The Review:

My wife has a phrase that arose during some of the more obscure episodes of the now-defunct Fox TV series "Millennium": her caustic description was "pseudo-religious mystical bullsh-t." Well, to paraphrase, this movie's plot is "pseudo-religious millennial bullsh-t" -- good though (*see footnote*).

Schwartzenegger: good dude. Byrne: good dude turned very bad. Tunney: very good dude, but very confused. It's the end of the millennium -- which, now that it's happened, allows us to know for sure this is fiction (hint, hint) -- and the Devil is roaming New York City looking for his specially prepared bride. Schwartzenegger, ex-agency and ex-cop now a major arm in a very expensive private security firm in NYC, gets in the way. Sparks (and lots of great special effects) fly. Schwartzenegger gets very hurt, but has learned persistence and tenacity from Terminator 2. Decent action, convoluted but curious plot, mediocre acting. You will find out more about the subterranean cavities of New York than you ever wanted to.
