The Review: A bit of comedy, a bit of drama, infused with some pretty odd ducks. Goldie Hawn is a bartender and ex-rock groupie who still lives off her memories of bands long past, which gets her fired; Geoffrey Rush is the obsessive nutcase she picks up at a bus stop in order to fund her drive to Phoenix.. .., to visit Susan Sarandon, erstwhile companion rocker and groupie now transformed into a staid, upper-class, tight-ass, beige-wearing mom. Hawn becomes muse to one, catalyst to another, and transforms a family. Those who remember the 60's and 70's -- and yes, some of us both lived through those times and remember them -- are likely to watch this movie with amusement, a bit of nostalgia, and appreciate it for what it is: a cautionary trip down memory lane. It doesn't take itself too seriously. It's a bit raunchy around the edges (they're not really sisters, but the title carries meaning), and it has lots of edges. But if you're patient, you will gain a whole new perspective on the advertising theme, "Got milk?"

It's fun to watch Hawn and Sarandon working and having fun together, and wish this were not the first time. The characters of the two daughters are also "interesting" (Christensen and Amurri), and they seem new to the silver screen.

Well-supported by a sound track filled with classics by Roger Daltry, Peter Frampton, Jim Morrison, and tracks from Steppenwolf and the Doors; it all fits.
