The Review: Not bad; but, for a Coen brothers effort, not great either.
Vain, preening, teeth-whitening, cynical and self-centered divorce attorney (Clooney) finally meets his match, falling hard for the stunning (soon to be ex-) wife (Zeta-Jones) of one of his clients. She, on the other hand, appears to be trading up from one rich husband after another. A collision is inevitable. Both play their roles broadly, perhaps too much so.
As one expects from a Coen Brothers plot, there are a few twists and turns, some pleasant surprises and some groaners. Lip service is paid to the marginal ethics, but not to attempted murder.
