The Review: Engaging psychological thriller with a dark vein of science-fiction.

A mother (Moore) is trying to deal with the accidental death of her only son, with surprisingly grudging support from her husband (Edwards) and psychiatrist (Sinise). When she meets someone she thinks she knows -- the father (West) of one of her son's playmates -- but is rejected as a total stranger, things morph into a twisted almost-fantasy of lost memory. But when it finally comes clear, the science-fiction vein will be familiar to many.

However, as with a larger number of movies of late, the trailers for Forgotten (if watched with normal interest) telegraphed many of the key points and surprises. If you have managed not to see the trailers, you are in a better position to enjoy the unfolding of the plot, and your sense of resolved curiosity will not spoil things for you.
