The Review: An overeager but totally incompetent dog applies for the job of guide for the blind. Since this is the sequel to director's Guard Dog, winner of the 2005 Oscar for Best Animated Short Film, we know that nothing will go right. The animation has a soft-edged artistry. Some elements of the design are quite good. For example, near the beginning, one of the distractions from duty is a clever bird "cloud".
One of the 2006 Academy Award nominees for animated short feature; others included Danish Poet, Maestro, Little Matchgirl and No Time for Nuts. Other animated short features (screened at the same time) that qualified or were shortlisted for Oscar nomination included One Rat Short, The Passenger, The Wraith of Cobble Hill and Gentlemen's Duel.
