The Review: We go to school or apprentice to masters to learn how to do what we do. Did you ever stop to wonder how UFO-based alien abductors learn to do their job? (I didn't think so...) This animated short illustrates the Murphy's Law variant "whatever can go wrong, will." Excellent, and quite funny.
One of the 2006 Academy Award nominees for animated short feature; others included Danish Poet, Maestro, Little Matchgirl, and No Time for Nuts. One curious thing is that the director has been nominated for nearly 15 Academy Awards, but all in sound or sound editing. This is his first venture into directing, which bodes well.
The public release of this short was delayed so that it could be used as the lead-in to the recently released Pixar animated feature Ratatouille.
