For all that it might appear that I'm a long-time movie maven and experienced film buff, there are a surprising number of film "classics" that I have never seen -- whether from accident, from oversight or by intent. As I slowly discover these classics for myself, for good or for bad , I've decided to add them to these pages as capsule reviews (analogous to the "video" reviews of releases missed the first time around). They can also serve as a touchstone for whether your tastes and opinions are aligned with mine.
